Sock Blanks
Here’s some of my sock blanks. I knit sock yarn on my knitting machine into a fabric, then hand paint it with dyes. You unravel the rows of the blank and use it to knit socks. Some of the blanks have 2 strands of sock yarn knit up, which creates perfectly matched skeins and some of the blanks are knit up separately. Which type of blank people buy depends on how they want to make their socks, one at a time or knit both at the same time. The dyed patterns make beautiful art socks.

Thanks for the compliments. I’ve got several different yarns and the amount of rows are all different. I try for a fabric that is wider then the sock if it were laid out flat. I think it makes a more interesting pattern on the sock. Then I keep knitting until I get to the right weight plus some extra rows to make sure people get enough yardage. The socks I make are approx 70 grams for the pair and I sell the blanks with 100 grams of yarn in them. I sell most of them on http://www.fairyyarnmother.com so you can see more patterns there. I’ve got some on esty, but have only sold a few there, there’s lots of hand-dyed yarns to pick from there.
