I’m so excited! The Fairy Yarn Mother web site is here. But I’m getting ahead of myself, I should tell you what it is first. It’s just the best damn on-line, web site on the internet for hand dyed yarns and fiber! Yup, that’s what it is, and you’re gonna love it! It came about because my good friend Riin and I re-connected after several years and discovered that we were both doing the same thing, we had started businesses selling our hand dyed yarns. Riin and I meet in 1992 when I worked in Ann Arbor, we knit together every week for years and years. Anyone that’s ever been in a knitting group knows how well you get the know people when you knit in a circle. 8 years ago my job took me home to Wisconsin, we lost touch for a while but fortunately reconnected last year. Early this year we decided to combine forces to creat Fairy Yarn Mother! I don’t think we’ll ever see the sun again. it’s hidden under stormy skies that I wish would go away. It was getting me down so I had to go into the basement last night and dye yarn in bright colors. Here’s a few for you to look at. :)

I’m so glad it’s Sunday so I can rest! I’m beat. Well, the Janesville Knit-in was a blast. It was nicely organized and full of helpful people. I was a bit worried about getting into my first event as a vendor, but it went well. I really enjoyed talking to everyone that stopped by, it was a nice group of women. Everyone was very encouraging, so in hind sight, I wish I had gotten more sleep and worried less! I’ll have to remember that for next time. :) I brought more then enough things for people to peruse and made lots of sales, even talked to a few stores about wholesaleing and teaching so that was a nice bonus.
I’ve got to send a big thank you out to my friend Pat who helped me set up, thank you Pat, couldn’t have done it with out you. :) My parents showed up at the end and were able to see my booth, that was nice too. Thank you all for making it a good experience!

I should also thank my wonderful husband, Jim. He had to stay home with Hans who had surgery on his knee last Tuesday. We’ve started calling him “Gimpy” :)
